Sonny Mayo released his first album, “So Far So Good,” out of Nashville in 1981 – which was critically acclaimed by “Record World” magazine and culminated a six-year apprenticeship in Los Angeles & Nashville. Since then, Mayo has released 11 albums on the indie label, Thunder Road Music –all the while maintaining a distinguished career as a college professor! Mayo’s most recent CD, “Chasing the Chord,” is a blend of Folk, Blues and Americana, rich with vivid characters and editorial comments on societal issues. Sonny performs Friday, September 7, 2018 at the festival kick-off party at the Clarendon Historical Society.
Julianne Donofrio is a director, writer and producer from New York. She is a Peabody Award-winning veteran of ABC News where she spent more than a decade working on daily news and long form projects such as “Nightline: The Survivors,” which profiled two of the burn survivors from the 9-11 Pentagon attack.
She currently creates short documentary films highlighting philanthropic organizations and their impact.
“Pieced Together” is her first feature documentary film. It has played in multiple festivals across the country, winning several awards including the Audience Award for Feature Film at the 2018 Indy FilmFest in Indianapolis. Ms. Donofrio is presenting her film on Saturday, September 15, 2018 with a special student presentation, Friday, September 14 at Kendall Jr./Sr. High School. Her appearance is made possible by Orleans County Tourism, Partyka Farms and the Country Barn Quilt Community.
